Latvian Agitation

January 11, 2015.

My second Sunday of Reflection.
Passing Thoughts

Last year it seemed that time stood still for the Peach and her family.  Now, after Tuesday's news from Paris, it felt like this week sped by at warp speed.  The events in France have eclipsed the story of the journalists in Egypt.  I bet for those three and their loved ones the week was tough.  Someone in Saudi Arabia was flogged for blogging.  Freedom of speech has been under attack for a while -- right out in the open.

This reminds me of the dark days of Latvia when dissidents were murdered or sent to Siberia.
My great aunt was sent to Siberia after they slaughtered her husband.  I was too young to understand all of her tales when she eventually travelled to Canada, but I do remember that she said her days in Siberia were the best.  She was with all of the intellectuals collected from all of the various countries.
I will have to Google about those days in the 1940's and review WW II.  What a bloody century that was.  Tanks and uniformed soldiers made statesmen recognize war.  There are no statesmen anymore, just politically correct appeasers who cower in corners.

Has the large capacity Latvian brain been agitated enough for the day?

I am going to rest now.
